Aquarium Care for Buenos Aires Tetra -
Tank size - 20 gallon for 6 & 30 gallon or larger for community aquarium.
Tank decoration - My Albino Buenos Aires Tetra are active & seem to prefer panted aquarium. These fish nip plant leafs, so ensure the plants are thick leafed plants. They require open swimming area to school. Driftwood, rocks & plants can be used for decoration. This fish usually hangout in the middle & surface area of the aquarium.
I used cabomba plant & this fish nipped the delicate leafs of this plant.
Tank mates for Buenos Aires Tetra -
This fish can be a nasty fin nipper, hence choose compatible tank mates & avoid long finned or slow moving fish. I have kept these fish with Serpae tetra, Rosy Barb, Cherry Barb, Red Eye Tetra, Botia loach, Yoyo loach, Red Rainbow fish, Western rainbow fish, Giant Danios, Rainbow Shark etc.
